Why you can't change the link later or see scan statistics

Some QR sites let you change where a code points after it's printed, or count how many people scanned it. Both need a server in the middle: every scan has to pass through it and be recorded, and someone has to pay to keep that server running. To protect your privacy and keep this service free, we don't collect or use any of your information — so we don't run such a server, and we don't offer those two features.

Link changed later? Just make a new QR code. It's always free.

Why we built this

We kept running into QR code sites that pushed us to sign up, made a "free" code, and then stopped it from working weeks later unless we paid. We were tired of that. So we built this site to share with you: QR codes that are free and keep working.

We left out everything you don't need and kept only what you do.

Questions

Do these QR codes expire?

No. They are static QR codes: the content is stored in the pattern itself, so they keep working for as long as the code is printed — as long as the link or details inside are still valid.

Can I change the link after printing, or see how many people scanned it?

No. Both features need a server that every scan passes through, which means collecting information and paying for servers. To keep this site private and free, we don't do that. If your link changes, make a new code.

Can I use the codes for business, menus or products?

Yes. Every code you make is yours to use anywhere — print, packaging, signs, websites — for free, with no credit required.

Is my Wi‑Fi password or contact information sent anywhere?

No. Everything is made inside your browser, in a sealed area that is not allowed to connect to the internet. Ads appear only outside that area and cannot read what you type.

My QR code won't scan. What should I check?

Keep the code dark on a light background with strong contrast, leave the white border around it, make the logo smaller or remove it, and print it at least 2 cm (0.8 in) wide. Our scan check under the preview reads every code back before you download it.

Is it really free? Who owns "QR Code"?

Yes, completely free. The QR code standard is open and free for anyone to use. "QR Code" is a registered trademark of DENSO WAVE INCORPORATED.
